Going Digital: California's Textbook Project

According to the article, California has a new program called the Digital Textbook Initiative because Digital Textbooks can offer the latest information and lighten the load of school bags. Moreover, they save paper and trees, and it is effective to make severe cuts in school spending. On the other hand, there are problems because not everyone has a computer or electronic reader. In addition to that, schools could print out copies although that would not help the environment.California cannot require schools to use the digital textbooks thus individual school districts will have to decide for themselves.

When I was a high school student, my high school lent a personal computer to each student so we took notes by using the computer and we used the computer even at home. Therefore, I agree with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and I think Digital Textbooks are useful to offer the latest information and lighten the load of school bags.
